‘As the deer pants for streams of water so my soul pants for you, O God’. (Psalm 42:1)
‘…Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink”…’ (John 7:37)

Life can be so busy and stressful, especially living in a large city like London. Hardly a week goes by when I don’t need some encouragement or inspiration that focuses my mind on the goodness of God enabling me to face the week ahead.

I regularly need to take time to pause and reflect on the deeper things of life in order to recharge my batteries and cope with whatever comes my way.

The Bible is excellent for that process. As the Apostle Paul wrote:

‘There's nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God's way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us’.
(2 Timothy 3:16–17, The Message)

If living in this world is leaving you parched and dry, then why not take a look at the Bible. You’ll find that all of it points us to Jesus, who alone provides satisfying water for the thirsty.

This weekly devotional section reflecting on the Word of God is designed to encourage and help you in your walk with God.

I hope you will find this tool helpful and that God will bless you as drink from His well,

Pastor Barry
